The Australian government is urging people to wear high-tech safety shoes to help prevent injuries.ABC Radio Melbourne reports that in the past month more than 20 people have been injured after a foot was caught in a shoebox.
The shoe is made of lightweight plastic and is supposed to cushion the feet.ABC News says some of the shoes have become worn down.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services said: “Safety shoes are a great way to keep our feet safe while travelling and to prevent the potential for a serious injury.”
There have been no reported injuries.
