It’s not a new problem for China.
About 7 per cent of people in the country have asthma, according to a study published last year in the Lancet.
But many in the Asian country are more familiar with the problems than others.
For instance, a study released last month by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences said about 40 per cent had asthma.
The Chinese government said in September that its plan to reduce the country’s air pollution would be rolled out across the country by the end of 2021.
But some experts say the government’s plans to reduce air pollution are too far in the future.
